The longhorn beetle group is a big one and many of them look like the palo verde beetles. These beetles grow up to a whopping thee and half inches long, and can fly! I found one of these on its back on the ground after a storm (in New Mexico just east of Albuquerque) and had never seen one before. Seeing lots of these fellows while on holiday in southern turkey, spending a lot of time rescuing them from the swimming pool !
